The oldest active lighthouse on the West Coast is located just steps from the Monarch Resort. Nearly 140 years ago, the huge light at Point Piños warned the ships that the entrance to Monterey Bay was a dangerous place. Pinos has shone since 1855 and the building, third-order lens and prisms of the light are all original.
